Why does Perloff’s idiocy make me so mad? Aaaargh. It’s a good thing I will never get to teach others or I would fail papers on account of approvingly citing Perloff alone. And how she’s worshiped by such a large part of contemporary academics…she doesn’t know the first thing about poetry (McClatchy? Really?), but she writes book after book about it. She also constantly contradicts herself. “21st Century Modernism” is a bit like “Lost”. Both appear to be written by someone with short/long-term memory defects.
